Hi Amanda,

I am glad you checked in, my friend. It sounds like you are dealing with a lot.

To start, I encourage you to talk to the mental health professionals that you are working with. Getting to the right medications and right dosages for you can take some time and patience. So if you don't think the medications are working, then let your doctor know. The two of you can determine if it's time to move on to another regimen. Team up with your doctor.

I also recommend that you have a similar conversation with your therapist. Let him/her know that you don't think the therapy is helping. It may be time to review your goals and decide how you want to move forward. Sometimes clients don't say how they feel about the therapy, whether they are getting the help they need. So it might be time to have this conversation.

Now about the abuse…

If you are being abused in some way, or being threatened, then your doctor or your therapist should know about this so that they can advocate for you. If you haven't disclosed this, then I hope you will have this conversation. Talk about what's going on at home and what your options are. They may be required to report this for you.

Here is a link to a hotline that you might also want to call to get some advice:

If you are in danger, you can always call 911 and ask for help.

I don't know your age. If you are under 18, you can also talk to a teacher or a school counselor and ask for help.

Amanda, I really encourage you to reach out for help from the mental health professionals you are working with. Again, make sure they know what you are experiencing so that you can work together to get the help you need.

Take good care of yourself! And stay in touch with us!

Gary

Ive already tried talking to both of them my therapist knows and desided to talk to my parents about it only to get the answer that im making it up along with pther things. my parents have corrupeted both my dr and therapist and have tunred it around saying that im vioplent with them and that I make things up and that I can not be trusted. and because I teach self defense I have marks constantly so my parents have told them that any marks are from that and not them even though I have had more marks from them. My mom has specifically told my dr to not further treat my depression and that once my refils run out she does not want him to fax in another refil and he is agreeing to do that. (im not the only one that complains about things like this with him) im also 18
