I think that when you are depressed, different kinds of thoughts and feelings can come up. Some of these thoughts may not make a lot of sense to you or to the people around you.
And as you said in your note, people who have not experienced depression don't understand what it's like, not really. And so they can be judgmental or just not very supportive.
The best way to deal with depression is to get help from a mental health professional. And if you are having thoughts and feelings that are confusing to you, then it's really important to let your doctor or therapist know. This will help them to help you.
Depression is treatable. So if you are not in treatment, I really encourage you to ask for help. That's the first step. If you are in treatment, then make sure your provider is aware of what's going on with you.
